Scientific Glassblower 100 % (m/f)

To strengthen our team of glassblowers, we are looking for an experienced Scientific Glassblower 100 % (m/f) to join our company.
  
Your tasks:

  • Processing of borosilicate glass on the lathe as well as at the table
  • Individual and serial production of glass apparatus according to technical drawings or samples
  • Repairing of glass apparatus
  • Support of further development of our manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Participation in internal innovation and development projects


Your profile:

  • Successfully completed vocational training as Scientific Glassblower, ideally with several years of professional experience 
  • Quick comprehension, independent and structured way of working
  • Technical understanding and high level of quality awareness 
  • Open to work in Switzerland
  • Good oral and written English skills

Responsibilities

Assembly and commissioning of new systems on customer site and inhouseService and repair work on installed systemsContact person for customers’ technical questionsProvision of technical support on site for equipment, automation and softwareConducting of customer trainingsPerformance of preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operationsGenerating leads for new projects, collection of technical information for sales and project engineersAdvising of customers regarding optimizations and add-on equipment Quoting of services and spare partsCreation of service reports and other documentationManagement of spare parts inventories and workshopTravel between 50% – 75%


Qualifications

Experience in assembling apparatus and equipment based on parts lists and drawingsSelf-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervisionAbility to thrive in diverse environments, high social skills, and customer-oriented thinkingWillingness for country wide, multiple day travel (typically 1 – 2 days to 1 week at a time, frequent overnight stays)Hard working, eager to learn, comfortable in an international environmentExperience with wiring small electronics a plus Experience installing software and troubleshooting computer connection issues a plus


Education and Experience

Relevant training in technical trade or military school or minimum 2 years of field service or technical service experienceExperience interfacing with customers


Physical Requirements

Wir suchen ab August 2025 einen motivierten Lernenden Polymechaniker/in PROFIL E.

Bei der Büchi AG, nahe dem Bahnhof Uster, bilden wir dich im Beruf Polymechaniker/-in Profil E aus. In der modernen Werkstatt wirst du in folgenden Bereichen eingeführt: konventionelle Fertigung (Drehen, Fräsen), manuelle Fertigung, Montagetechnik und Programmierung & Bedienung von CNC-Maschinen. Du stellst anspruchsvolle Einzelteile in diversen Materialien her und durchläufst verschiedene Abteilungen unseres Produktionsbetriebes, von der Konstruktion über die Glasbläserei bis hin zur Montage. Es erwartet dich eine abwechslungsreiche und umfassende Ausbildungszeit.
