Responsibilities

  • Assembly and commissioning of new systems on customer site and inhouse
  • Service and repair work on installed systems
  • Contact person for customers’ technical questions
  • Provision of technical support on site for equipment, automation and software
  • Conducting of customer trainings
  • Performance of preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operations
  • Generating leads for new projects, collection of technical information for sales and project engineers
  • Advising of customers regarding optimizations and add-on equipment 
  • Quoting of services and spare parts
  • Creation of service reports and other documentation
  • Management of spare parts inventories and workshop
  • Travel between 50% – 75%


Qualifications 

  • Experience in assembling apparatus and equipment based on parts lists and drawings
  • Self-motivated and self-managed to perform the required duties at a distance from direct supervision
  • Ability to thrive in diverse environments, high social skills, and customer-oriented thinking
  • Willingness for country wide, multiple day travel (typically 1 – 2 days to 1 week at a time, frequent overnight stays)
  • Hard working, eager to learn, comfortable in an international environment
  • Experience with wiring small electronics a plus 
  • Experience installing software and troubleshooting computer connection issues a plus


Education and Experience

  • Relevant training in technical trade or military school or minimum 2 years of field service or technical service experience
  • Experience interfacing with customers


Physical Requirements

  • Will occasionally work around chemicals that may require personal protection
  • Must occasionally wear personal protective equipment (e.g. hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses)
  • Occasional climbing of ladders and lifting (up to approx. 50lbs) may be required
  • Will occasionally work in clean-room environment and wear specialized clothing


Travel Requirements 

  • Position involves frequent travelling in the USA and Canada and some travelling to Europe (Switzerland, Germany, and Italy) and Mexico (rarely)
  • Travel between 50% – 75%
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Valid passport required


Benefits

  • Salary range: $55,000 to $75,000 / year * + overtime
  • Health care insurance costs fully covered by employer
